Dilip Kumar Forgetful frank and charming
At the inaugural function of the International Film Festival Of India in Goa, thespian Dilip Kumar was forgetful in his address. But the legendary actor still charmed the audience with his frankness and some self-effacing humor. What's in a name? The famous adage was taken in the right spirit by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Jaipal Reddy when Dilip Kumar forgot his name at the inaugural function of IFFI on Monday. The thespian, who was one of the chief guests at the opening ceremony, while delivering his speech slipped over Reddy's name and addressed him as 'Jaisalma'. However, the thespian realized his mistake and blamed his forgetful nature for it. He then added another punch of humor when he took out his speech to read but humbly admitted that he couldn’t read his own writing. Mr. Kumar’s frankness reciprocated a sportive response from the august gathering. Later on, when Mr. Jaipal Reddy came to the dais to address the audience, he described Dilip Kumar as “a thespian of thespians and an icon of icons.” He said that the image of Dilip Kumar burnt brightly as days passed and "though his forgetfulness grows, his memories among the people still continues to grow day by day", he added in a jocular tone. Dilip Kumar the legend has made a comeback with the coloured version of Mughal-e Azam, the Minister added.
